Weekly Update – 01/13/2025
Beloved Holy Resurrection Church (HRC) family, wishing you a joyous Nativity Season. We pray for all those impacted by the fires, asking for God’s comfort and strength during this difficult time. We also give heartfelt thanks to everyone who has opened their homes and offered help to those who were affected. We also extend our gratitude to our Sunday School for generously delivering several carloads of supplies to the Westchester YMCA, along with heartfelt cards (link to photo) and delicious sandwiches for the firefighters.

HRC Board of Deacon (Servants) Acclamation: The HRC Board of Deacons (Servants) is a committee that is responsible for the financial and administrative affairs of the church. The committee is currently due for renewal. On January 19, an electronic form will be sent to the church congregation with a three-day deadline. Eligible church members will have the opportunity to recommend up to six names for the board. Each recommended individual should be an active member of HRC, 18 years or older, regularly observing the Holy Sacraments and not a member of another Church’s Board. Each recommended individual should not be related by blood or marriage to the priest or to another individual recommended for the Board’s membership. Then on January 26, Bishop Abraham will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at HRC and present the names for vote.
Marriage and Family Life Meeting: This Sunday, January 19 at 11:30am, inside the church. Dr. Clara Bertan will speak to us on “Handle with Care: Managing Emotions in Marriage”.
Parking at HRC: Beginning this Sunday, the Culver City Police will issue citations for vehicles illegally parked in the HRC parking lot.
Marriage Workshop for Newlyweds: February 15, 10am-3pm. All newlyweds are encouraged to register using this link for this special event, designed to support married couples. Held at a beautiful beachside venue, the event will feature inspiring talks by our guest speaker Makar Naguib. Don’t miss this unique opportunity!
