Weekly Update 05/03/2021 – Fr. Cyril Gorgy
Christ is Risen!
Beloved Holy Resurrection Church family, wishing you and your family a blessed Feast of Resurrection (Pascha or Passover).
We thank God for allowing us to pray Matin and the Feast of Resurrection Liturgy, very early Sunday Morning, following the original rite of the Church.
On this Great and Holy Feast of Pascha, we celebrate the life-giving Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is a celebration of the defeat of death, as neither death itself nor the power of the grave could hold our Savior captive. Therefore it’s our Pascha where we pass over from death to life. In this victory that came through the Cross, Christ broke the bondage of sin, and through faith offers us restoration, transformation, and eternal life.
In the center of the icon of the resurrection is Christ pulling Adam and Eve up from their tombs. The gates of death are broken and death is defeated. We recall the joyous words of St. Paul: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). For 50 days following the Feast, we will witness a procession of celebration and declaration that Christ is Risen, in all the Divine Liturgies, throughout these Holy Fifty Days.
We are very grateful for all the HRC servants that offered their service and I pray that the Lord reward them.

God willing, moving forward, all services will be open (no registration required). Available space will be assigned based on a first come basis. Once the church is full, a servant will direct people to adjacent space, where the service will be streamed live.
Wednesday Divine Liturgy will resume at from 5:30-7:30am.
May our Risen Lord support and protect you and your family by the power of His Holy Resurrection.
